TWO PLAYERS FROM ST. LOUIS SC BLUE U16
SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN 2008 ESP ADIDAS ELITE PROGRAM FEBRUARY 21-24 AT CAL POLY - POMONA
Fenton, Missouri … January 24, 2008 -- Jordan Frick and Elizabeth Sinclair, members of the St. Louis SC Blue U16 girls team coached by Scott McDoniel, have been selected to participate in the 2008 ESP adidas Elite Program February 21-24 at Cal Poly - Pomona. A total of 84 field players and 12 goalkeepers from across the United States were invited to the program.
Former U.S. Women’s National Team coach Tony DiCicco will direct the program, assisted by former World Cup champions and Olympic gold medalists Joy Fawcett and Shannon MacMillan, among others.
“These girls are very deserving of this opportunity and I think the entire St. Louis soccer community should be proud of them,” McDoniel said. “It is a tremendous opportunity to play with and against some of the best players in the country, and to get exposure to the highest level of coaching.”
Frick, a defender, is a sophomore at Kirkwood High School. Sinclair, a midfielder, is a sophomore at Cor Jesu Academy. Both played on the St. Louis SC Blue team that won the 2007 US Club Soccer Region D championship in Indianapolis last June and advanced to the US Club Soccer national finals, which were held in Greensboro, NC, last July.
Players are invited to the ESP adidas Elite Program based on recommendations from a national scouting network.
The St. Louis Soccer Club has won 15 national championships and is based at the Anheuser-Busch Centre in Fenton, Mo.
