Two Players form St. Louis Soccer Club Blue U16 Selected to Participate in 2008 ESP ADIDAS Elite Program February 21-24 at Cal Poly - Pomona.

Fenton, Missouri … January 24, 2008 -- Jordan Frick and Elizabeth Sinclair, members of the St. Louis SC Blue U16 girls team coached by Scott McDoniel, have been selected to participate in the 2008 ESP adidas Elite Program February 21-24 at Cal Poly - Pomona. A total of 84 field players and 12 goalkeepers from across the United States were invited to the program. Click here for full story.

ST. LOUIS SOCCER CLUB JOINS 17 OTHER ELITE NATIONAL PROGRAMS
AS PART OF LAUNCH FOR RED BULL NATIONAL LEAGUE FOR GIRLS

ST. LOUIS, April 24, 2007 -- The St. Louis Soccer Club will join 17 other elite national programs when the Red Bull National League for girls launches this fall.  The Red Bull national league will feature U16 and U15 girls teams.  Red Bull launched a similar league for U17 boys in 2006. World Cup Trophy

The St Louis Soccer Club hosted the "official" World Cup Trophy this past Tuesday evening at the Anheuser Busch Center.  All players were invited to come by and have their picture taken with the trophy.  This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for everyone to see the trophy. John Diraimondo Selected by Colorado Rapids

John DiRaimondo was selected by the Colorado Rapids with the fourth pick overall in the MLS supplemental draft Thursday.  John has played for the U17 & U20 US National Teams and was selected third team All-American this past year with SLU.

John was part of the 2004 USYSA U18 National Championship team that was won by the St Louis Soccer Club.

St. Louis Soccer Club Alumni

Soccer America just released the 2006 Men’s College Awards in the January issue.  We had several players named to various awards. 

David Roth (Northwestern University) was named to the Men’s MVP team.  As a freshman in 2004, he tied a Big Ten assists record with 14 for the Wildcats. In 2006 he was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to the NCAA Division 1 quarterfinals.  In the second round he scored the game winner against SLU from 30 yards out. 

Ashlee Pistorius (Texas A & M) was named to the the Women’s MVP team. It was Ashlee’s golden goal that gave the Aggies a 1-0 victory over North Carolina before an NCAA record crowd of 8,204 on the opening day of the 2006 season. She finished the season with 15 goals and five assist.  She currently ranks third on the all time A & M scoring list.

Soccer America also presented the NSCAA/Adidas All American Teams.

NCAA Division 1 Men:
John Diraimondo (SLU) was third team All American.

NCAA Division 1 Women:
Ashlee Pistorius (Texas A & M)  was named second team All American.

NCAA DIVISION 3 MEN:
David Mueller (Oglethorpe University) was name third team All American.
 

2006 STLSC Awares:
4th Annual STLSC Coaches Game and Awards Night 
          

The St Louis Soccer Club hosted the 4th Annual Coaches Game and Awards Night Saturday, August 5. 2006 at the Anheuser Busch Center.  The Girls Coaches won the game 2-1 and went ahead in the the series 2-1-1. 

The awards were given out after the game by “Mr. Soccer”, Bill McDermott.  The 2005-06 season winners were as follows:  Alyssa Mautz won the Girls Player of the Year Award and Eric Schmidt won the Boys Player of the Year Award.  Dave Fine took home the Girls Coach of the Year Award and Scott Weber won the Boys Coach of the year Award.   Julie Beger won the Manager of the Year award due to her work with the U16-Miller Girls team.  Steve Zanders U9 Girls won the Community Action Program award and won a $500.00 Adidas certificate at Soccer Master. 

The first annual Colin Fahrenkamp scholarship was presented to Kyle Olliges.  David and Fritz Fahrenkamp were on hand to make the presentation.  The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize the qualities of a young man in the club who plays soccer with a passion for the game and still maintains compassion for those who play with and against him.  The winner is also a person who refuses to compromise his integrity just to conform to peer pressure.  Kyle played on Tim Korte’s U18 team. 

Immediately following the awards ceremony the fun continued on the South Patio with Brian Smugala spinning records well into the night. 

 

2005 STLSC Awards:

The St. Louis Soccer Club hosted the 3rd annual Coaches Game and Awards Night Friday, August 12, 2005, at the Anheuser-Busch Center.  The Girl Coaches evened the series up at 1-1-1 with a 4-2 victory. 

The annual awards were given out after the game by “Mr. Soccer”, Bill McDermott.  The 2004-05 season winners were as follows:  Drea Barklage (Incarnate Word Academy) won the Girl’s Player of the Year while Justin Weply (Bellarmine University) won the Boy’s Player of the Year.  Gary Miller (U15)  took home the Girl’s Coach of the Year and John Stremlau (U18) won the Boy’s Coach of the Year.  Team Manager of the Year went to Jan Frick (U13G, U12B).  Tim Korte’s U10Boy’s and U17 Boy’s teams won the Community Action Program and will have $500.00 to spend at Soccer Master. 

The U15 Girl’s team were presented Adidas 2005 National Championship jackets.  Gatorade was represented by Lora Stelzer and she presented the team with National Championship backpacks. 

Immediately following the awards ceremony the fun continued on the South Patio with Brian Smugala spinning records well into the night!
